How to browse and move files interactively — sftp

You need an interactive file shell on the server: list, upload, download.

Every flag and config keyword was checked against the OpenSSH 9.6 man pages, and the config examples were parsed for real with ssh -G.

sftp deploy@example.com
sftp> put ./report.csv /tmp/    # upload
sftp> get /var/log/app.log      # download
sftp> ls /var/log               # remote listing (lls = local listing)
sftp> exit
