How to type your key passphrase once per session — ssh-agent and ssh-add
Your key has a passphrase and you do not want to type it on every connection.
Every flag and config keyword was checked against the OpenSSH 9.6 man pages, and the config examples were parsed for real with ssh -G.
eval "$(ssh-agent -s)" # start the agent and load its env vars
ssh-add ~/.ssh/id_ed25519 # unlock a key into the agent
ssh-add -l # list the fingerprints the agent holds
ssh-add -D # remove ALL keys from the agent
