eza — ls with colors, icons and git status

Plain ls tells you filenames and nothing else; eza is its maintained successor (the exa lineage).

On Debian/Ubuntu, most of these tools are also one sudo apt install away.

brew install eza          # install
eza -la --icons --git     # try: long listing with icons and git status
