yoinks — download videos from your terminal

You want a video from YouTube, X/Twitter, Instagram, Threads, TikTok or 1,800+ other sites — without popups and fake download buttons.

On Debian/Ubuntu, most of these tools are also one sudo apt install away.

npm install -g yoinks # install (needs Node 18+)
yoinks # try: paste any video URL when prompted

Good to know

Needs Node 18+. Paste a URL, pick a resolution (or audio-only mp3), done.
