zellij — a modern terminal workspace, tmux with training wheels

You want tmux's power with discoverable keybindings, layouts, floating panes, and sessions that survive restarts.

On Debian/Ubuntu, most of these tools are also one sudo apt install away.

brew install zellij # install
zellij -s dev # try: start a session named "dev"
