How to end a tmux session for good — tmux kill-session -t

A session is finished and should be gone — not detached, deleted.

tmux's default prefix is Ctrl-b: “prefix c” means press Ctrl-b, let go, then press c. Every CLI command was run for real against tmux 3.4 in detached test sessions, and every prefix binding was checked against the default binding table.

tmux kill-session -t work # ⚠️ destroys the session AND every window, pane and
                            # process inside it — unsaved work in there is gone
# inside tmux: prefix s opens the session tree (choose-tree) —
# arrow keys to pick a session, Enter to jump to it
